| About a girl named Angelique who is chosen to be one of two Queen Cantidates to become the ruler of the universe. What makes this series fun is the abundance of really cute Guardians that Angelique has to befriend before she can get the title. My favorite boytoys from this manga are Clavis, Lumiale, and Julious. (Black hair, Light Blue, and Blond respectively) Clavis and Julious seem to get into a verbal battle every time they're nearby, and Lumiale spends a lot of time playing the harp for Clavis. | ||

| See translated section for series overview. The Japanese manga have a page just inside the front and back covers with color shots of one of the characters, plus a Clow Card or Sakura Card with the character hidden somewhere in the middle of the manga. I picked up volumes 4, 7, and 11 for the pretty pictures, and volume 6 because it's the first appearance of Yue. :) The character cards per manga are: 4 - Touya, 6 - Cerberus, 7 - Yukito, 11 - Clow, 12 - Sakura. Anyway, in volume 4 Sakura, Tomoyo, and Li are stuck in a maze, there's an awsome shot of Touya on his motorcycle (a Zephyr) and Kaho runs around being weird. Cards captured are: The Maze, The Erase, and The Glow. Volume 6 is where Yue tests Sakura and we see Kero-chan's true form for the first time. Whee! Cards captured are: The Fiery and The Earthy. This is also where Sakura's key gets upgraded, by Kaho no less! Volume 7 introduces Eriol, Nakuru the Touya-glomper, Spinel Sun, and Ruby Moon. Sakura upgrades The Firey and The Sword to Sakura Cards. In Volume 11 Sakura finally learns that it's Eriol that's been causing all the trouble for the past five volumes... *sweatdrop* while Yue and Cerberus get into a fight with Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun. Yue and Cerberus go into Sakura's key to help her upgrade The Light and The Dark, while Li Shaolan helps on the outside. Then Sakura's father shows up and.. and.. arrgh, I wish I could read Japanese! Volume 12 ends the series, so I won't say a word about it. ;) | ||

| The world is ruled by a council of Wizards. These Wizards keep close tabs on anyone whose magical power might challenge theirs. People with magical powers are sorted out by a rating system: One-leaf clovers are harmless, only knowing things such as the day they will die. Two-leaf clovers are stronger, Three-leafs can handle most of the council all by themselves. Four-leaf clovers can't exist. Or can they? The art is simplistic (for CLAMP) but the story is complex. The first two volumes follow a girl name Suu and her chosen protector to Fairy Park. The second two deal with events that happened before book one, and introduce the lovely singer Oruha and the triplets A, B, and C. | ||

| Take a peek below at the translated section for an intro to Inuyasha. I picked up these particular volumes because Inuyasha's big brother Sesshomaru (nicknamed Fluffy by fans) is in them. (Also volume 2) In volume 7, Fluffy's beating up on little brother again, with a little help from Naraku. He actually gets ahold of the Tetsusaiga for a few chapters. His dream come true! :) In volume 13 he's trying to convince the old guy Toutousai to make a sword for him, we learn what's up with that sword he carries at his waist and never uses, he beats up Inuyasha some more, and Inuyasha finally figures out the Cutting Wind. In volume 14 Fluffy-chan gets hurt terribly *sniff* and is nursed by a little bitty girl named Rin. Later she gets killed by wolves and Sessho-sama uses the power of Tenseiga to revive her. *yay!* After that Inuyasha fights with Kouga a bit. Volume 16 has Inuyasha going full-yokai after Tetsusaiga gets bitten in half, then Fluffy-chan takes the head of the thing that bit apart Tetsusaiga to be made into a sword for him. Rin runs around being adorable in this one, plus there's a really beautiful picture of Sessho-sama. In Volume 17 it's Fluffy versus Inuyasha, with Fluffy weilding the new freaky sword. About halfway in the volume is that adorable "Rin, Freeze." scene. Wai! Kawaii! The second half deals with Inuyasha and Kouga fighting Juroumaru and Kageromaru. Note: The stupidest thing a baddie can do is say you're gonna eat Kagome while Inuyasha's in earshot. Volume 24 comes with a little card attached to the back, so I guess that's why its ISBN number is so weird... | ||

| CLAMP's first manga series, running 10 volumes, gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'messed up'. It seems like the six stars are fighting against a harsh overlord who murdered his predecessor, protecting a little girl-boy-it named Ashura, (Yasha's fanatical about the protecting part) and getting a little guidance every now and then by this totally cool mysterious guy named Kujaku. Volume eight I picked up because I wanted to see the CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan boys all grown up. :) They show up right away in volume 8 and are so adorable! On the inside front cover, back cover, and side bar is Yuzuriha Nekoi- Kakyou is on volume 10, and Satsuki on 9. Anyway, also in volume 8 is a little bit of Kakyou talking with Kotori, Subaru fighting with Seishirou, a blip on Nataku, and Fuma... err... kills his sister. x.x Volume 10 has Kakyou-kun on the front/back/inside covers. He's so pretty... anyway, in 10 they seal the second sword at CLAMP Gakuen (The CCD boys are still here!) and all the dragons gather with their respective Kamuis. It's so confusing! | ||

| I think the TokyoPop ad for Mars sums it up best: "A Bad Boy can change a Good Girl forever." It's a love story, plain and simple. A fifteen volume love story. ^.^ Rei rides a motorcycle, doesn't seem to care about much, and is all around not exactly your ideal boyfriend. Kira is an artist, an introvert, and not the kind of girl you'd expect to fall for Rei, or be the kind of girl Rei would fall for. But fall they do, and hard. Now, if only life would quit throwing monkey wrenches in their way... | ||

| I have "Terrible Master Urd" and "The Queen of Vengeance" and "Miss Keiichi" and "The Devil in Miss Urd" and I have no idea what volume numbers they are. Dark Horse does strange things. I do know that TQoV comes right after TMU... Anyway, Belldandy's big sister Urd is half demon and ends up going a little nuts and trying to destroy the earth. She gets Mara for her personal servant. :) Then after that's all solved Belldandy starts sleeping all the time, Urd starts chugging alcohol, and Skuld's on an ice cream high. If that wasn't bad enough, Urd starts getting younger and Skuld older. It's Keiichi to the rescue! Oh, and Belldandy knits a sweater too. | ||

| See the Japanese section for a series overview. This is my absolute favorite manga ever, so I'm not entirely sure what to say. The cover of volume one looks like the contrast has been played with, but volume two is better. On the plus side, they kept in the color pages. One the minus side, their translations are... a bit weird. And they made the angels into girls. Sigh. I knew it would happen, but I really was hoping for androgenous... | ||

| See the English section for an overview of the series. I picked up these chinese volumes because they were cheaper than the japanese (go figure) and because they both had Yue in them. In these volumes we get to see Clow Reed, Eriol and his crew, a few new characters, and that cute scene where Touya gives his power to Yue so Yukito will stop fading away. The weirdest thing is that the Chinese don't translate sound effects, so while all the talking is in Chinese, the crash-bang-shock are still in Japanese! | ||

| A little taller than your average tankubon, this rocks because not only is it in English for non-Japanese speakers, but it's also still in Japanese for those who are learning to compare words! It's published in Japan, probably for Japanese children learning English, and the translator is listed as Michiru (Michy) Short. | ||
